BA update
Urgent Boating News - We have been informed by Network Rail that due to a structural issue, Somerleyton Swing Bridge is currently non operational pending a visit by an engineer. It is likely the bridge will be out of operation for at least a few days.

We will share any updates in due course.

I wonder if it would be more time efficient if they warned us when it was open.
Seriously though it's time this contraption was replaced...

Will it come to the day sometime when Reedham and Somerleyton  bridges will cease to open due to structural or engineering problems ,
Would network rail have to replace with a opening structure ,does anyone know what the legal situation is now there is no commercial traffic on the Yare.
Adrian.

M&A surely every hire boat is commercial. Network Rail have a legal obligation to maintain the bridges, commercial traffic or not.

Dave

if it is to be it is up to me.
