Ive owned my 23 foot sail boat now for 8 months and ive been looking for a permeant mooring ever since i purchased it. (luckily i got it in at a sailing club who are very friendly and helpful) but trying to find a boat yard with available births is just madness.
i either get told its a 2 year waiting list or "we wont take a boat that small"
its just a little infuriating and i wanted to vent...
I think you will find they will take your boat they just have a minimum chargeable length policy.
That is normally 25 foot but can be more.
We had to pay quite a large premium when we moored our 16 foot cruiser on the broads .
A piece of advice often given to newcomers is to find your mooring before your boat . There are loads of boats available but very few suitable moorings .
I would have little faith in the waiting list system and go down the pay a bit more route.
I believe Hunters yard had some available at the end of last year not sure if that’s still the case. NBYco next door definitely have some but not sure if there is a minimum charge.
In a nutshell The Moore the merrier.

Side -on moorings are charged by boat length so you might have better luck with anywhere that has those type. There are some side on moorings at Cox’s. I’ll also pm you with some contact info.

If you have a choice then I would head down onto the River Waveney, a good sailing river, unlike the Ant! The harbour master at Oulton Broad will probably be able to help. I'm afraid that Broads marina owners prefer rich motorboat owners!
