Dajen I agree totally, but swmbo appears to have caught some sort of viral infection and keeps rambling on about sailing dinghies, gunters, cute and I fear the cure is going to cost me money Figure whacking a sail on Scooby is a cheaper option than buying a little dinghy type

Brave lad! Actually I would not do so. Scooby is solid but without a keel you will not be able to tack into the wind at all, you could blow along with the wind behind you but not have any real control, ie. dangerous methinks. The inflatable looked a bit 'iffy' but small sail wide and very buoyant boat offers a better combination than you have. If you could bear to cut a slot in Scooby for a daggerboard to drop in while sailing, it would help, but I think I remember that Scooby has a very square bow. Personally I'd look for a cheap dinghy on e-bay.

I think a damn good thrashing with a stick of soggy lettuce is called for, followed by a trip with GC in which he demonstrates the art of capsizing (I suggest in November) . This should cure her. Dave

What about hiring a daysailer from Martham or the Hunters yard? Karen can then work out if she really enjoys the sailing thing before you fork out for a dinghy. You could have a couple of days tuition from the Whelpton yard again to increase confidence and/or effect a cure! Personally, I am fairly sure the virus is permanent!

Excellent idea Pauline, will look into that. You think it's permanant eh? Do you realise just how much that has cheered me up? Anyway it's mainly your fault!! After seeing yours that's when the virus / plague kicked in

I think its a damed good idea, the one in the picture has a whoping great outboard on it. It could be used as an undercover spy on the sailies craft for STINKIES UNITED. If spotted on goes the motor and a quick getaway is on hand, leaving the salies floundering in the wake. He He

Whispering Reeds have some excellent halfdeckers so I'm told. I know next to nothing about saily stuff, but they do look really good...
