Hi all,

You may like to take a look at my new Norfolk Broads guidebook for a mobile phone - it's free. You download it and store on the memory card of your mobile. Then you can use it while out on the water and not have to worry about connections or charges. It works on most modern mobile phones and this first version covers places of interest north of Acle bridge. It's mainly aimed at tourists rather than regulars, but you may find it interesting. Make sure you don't drop your phone in the water while using it!!

Let me know what you think - any suggestions of what to put in it welcome.

This is a very neat idea and works great on my Ericsson, but for the life of me I can't work out how to get it on my Motorola.

It's true to say that all mobile phones are not yet equipped with a decent web browser and some simply will not let you see what file's you have on your memory card! We tested on the main brands - Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Windows Mobiles etc. Things are getting better in this area and new generation phones coming onto the market have no problem displaying the guide. Hi,  by way of feedback,  I see that most of the maps have public car parks detailed on them,  but I don't think I see any with public mooring locations on them,  which seems an oversight given the target audience - or perhaps the guide is aimed only at driving tourists?

That guide is aimed at both driving and boating tourists, but you have a very good point. The maps are a first draft and a little more work is needed. The aim is to make them completely scrollable and linked to GPS if the phone has one, to show the current location.
