Mods and Members, I am very concerned that the forum has been put into a very serious position reference a certain Member. 1. Is this Member Seriously on a mission to disrupt the forum. 2. Which looks very likely the Member is having very serious mental issues. How should this be tackled? Should all of their posts be removed or should we just ignore them and let the Member happily carry on. Mods please advise.

As the saying goes, "if the shoe fits . . . . . " On a Facebook site to which I subscribe there is a similar situation. The family of the person concerned posted and explained the situation. The person still posts, is sympathetically accepted and indeed has now become a useful member, clearly benefitting from the group's sympathetic tolerance and is clearly coming outside the other side.

Are any of us suitably qualified to judge a fellow member's sanity? Just a thought.

I would block the posts which are a nuisance but accept the ones which are not and hopefully they will get the message. If this does not work then block them altogether.

This one does concern me. Referring to my experience with the Facebook site that I have already mentioned the point was raised by the family already mentioned that the group concerned was the chosen link with the outside world for their family member. I'm lucky in that I have a footpath outside my front door and at the height of the lockdown I had the world at my door, even if we kept our distance. For others, it became a sometimes self-imposed loneliness. I can't be alone when I say that lockdown has affected and changed people, fellow posters included, and not always for the best. People are sometimes working from home, often in isolation, the strange times that we are going through have had an impact. Please, let's not be too quick to judge, indeed who are we to judge?

In terms of mod/admin I'm afraid we do have to make judgements in relation to posts and contributions and how they sit within the terms of service for the site. Hence posts are sometimes edited or removed. Threads too can be locked or deleted. I think I speak for the whole team when I say we do our best to take those decisions fairly ( we also do this collectively where needed) , and we aim to judge content not people. Karen

I would just leave the poster be, any type of response (including deletion or editing) will only encourage them. Unless they break the TOS by posting anything, illegal, immoral, or the use bad language etc , just leave them be, if no one responds they will either get bored and go elsewhere or push the boundaries to a point where they warrant banning. If the posts offend or upset any member simply use the ignore button and you wont see the persons posts. Simples as Rammy use to say
if it is to be it is up to me.
