a lot of first time broads visitors must look at the forum threads in order to find out information on dayboats for a planned trip out on the rivers and broads.

just thought it would be a good idea to list where they are available from, type of boats available, open rowing, motor, picnic, dingy, canoe, ect
plus locations of yards, phone numbers and hire prices.
all this on one thread would be very useful information, and save a lot of time searching around the net for people who may have never visited norfolk before.
please feel free to post any information you may have for the 2006 season  Smile
anyone know of any dayboat hire available on the yare please?

Hi Julia

If you go to the 'shops & businesses' section (button at the bottom of the main page then above the map you can leave the location blank, but select dayboats available and it will bring up a list of boatyards that members have advised as running them.

Fencraft is the only one on the Yare listed I think.  However, I'm not sure they run them still, so definately worth a call.  There's also uncertainty as to whether they still run a hireboat independently - so if you do speak to them I'd be interested to hear if they have stopped hiring weekly craft etc altogether or not.

I'm sure there are others - I think you can hire them from the Brundall Angling Centre - but I may have dreamt this.   If you do find out you could add an entry to this section for the company and then it will help people again, and should be fairly easy for people to find the information.

This thread could be handy in showing the types of boats you can hire from the different places, prices etc like you say.. as the businesses section doesn't give any detailed information on them

Take care
