I can manage Dauphinois potatoes , that is a good idea. Can bung it all in the oven, keeps the boat warm as well.

Do you have to visit Maison Gosselin in person to be able to purchase? Translated is said not to send emails at the moment. The ready meals sounds fantastic. Also I like the idea of freezing meals and letting them defrost over a few days. Top one that one. Will do that. All except Fish pie which I have always found the aroma rather lingers for about 2 days after cooking. Women dont nag they just point things out... M

quote:"...... Do you have to visit Maison Gosselin in person to be able to purchase? ......." They do have an online shop, although I have never used it. The range available online seems much reduced. Going there in person is to explore a cornucopia of delights. Whole rooms devoted to calvados. Others for coffee, cognac, malt whisky, wines etc. Plus the amazing food. We would always come back with a very heavily laden boat!

And yes, the ready meals are superb. The whole duck with pear is probably my favourite. I also like the fromage a tete (pig's brains). The pates and terrines are amazing and their fish soup is a real gem.

Robin - I took time to look this morning and most impressed. Just loved the sound of Wild Boar and chestnuts which appears to come in a jar. How large would you say the jars are. Shall we compare jar sizes with a lb jar of jam. About the same or lager please, if you could let me know.

I bit the bullet , so to speak, and emailed the Company in France. I emailed because their web site stated that do not ship to the UK, but folks, they do. This week my two rather large jars (do two meals) arrived from France containing Wild Boar and Chestnuts , which I notice in the recipe has Bordeaux wine and Brandy in the mix. I am saving them for Christmas this year and next. They apparently last years. So thank you Robin (Speleologist) for your suggestion. I have pm'd you but I reckon you are off sailing somewhere wonderful. Women dont nag they just point things out... M
