We have a Weber gas BBQ, but I was thinking about maybe getting a Charcoal BBQ to try it out.
Was thinking about a folding one what with space on a boat and all that.
Can any of you guys recommend one and maybe send a link.
Also if you have experience of a cr*p one please let me know, before I but it as well.
If you don't use your boat. Sell it.

We use either a Cobb BBQ or a Safire BBQ ,...both are charcoal and both will work as a grill , BBQ ,or oven and although a considered purchase(they are around £120.00ish)they perform really well and are extremely economal regards charcoal cooking just about anything you want....even bread and cakes....don't know how to link thing but go Google and type in Cobb or Safire and it will come up ...also if you have Facebook there are both Cobb and Safire groups that give hints,tips and recipes ...

Thanks for the 2 suggestions. And they look good, but I was thinking more along the lines of the ones that can fold up before putting away.
I'll check the space on the boat and see if I can store a 13" round BBQ.
If you don't use your boat. Sell it.

I use a Lotus BBQ used to have a Cobb but find the Lotus is better, it uses normal lumpwood and has a battery powered fan which gets it going much faster than the Cobb, like the Cobb it has a carrying bag so I bring it home and put the inner bowl and rack in the dishwasher

I use the disposable ones i have a stand that it fits in you can then place a plate under to keep cooked food hot,and it doesn't burn or mark the ground, buy the trays half price at end of summer for use following year.John

I'm interested in the idea of a portable bbq, so I clicked on the link for the Millets one and Googled the others.
I was rather horrified to see that the description of the Lotus Grill on Amazon says:
"With the grill using charcoal you get a double benefit. With no gas bottle to carry round it makes this very light and portable and charcoal also gives a better flavour to your food. Versatile - Use indoors or outdoors"
I hope nobody does actually use it indoors - using a charcoal bbq indoors or in a tent has been the cause of several tragic deaths due to the carbon monoxide given off. Incidentally, death by hibachi is a common means of suicide in East Asia, due to its efficiency!

Death by BBQ is becoming a popular way to commit suicide.
For what it’s worth I think the Cobb is the best product on the market, you can use normal charcoal on it but the purpose made coconut husk briquettes last much longer.. Easy to use, doesn’t get hot on the outside so you won’t burn the grass or quay heading and easy to clean and stow away in the purpose built bag.
