Summercraft get some really good press and deservedly so. Their boats always look the business.

We are out on Gala Girl II shortly.  Been hiring from Summercraft for many years and have never been disappointed.

Bryan, we were on Gala II and really enjoyed it. She has the winch for the mud weight but we never used it. Only thing I would say is that against the wind and tide, it was a push to get her up to 5mph (where permitted of course!) but, the engine was tip top and sounded smooth when given a few revs.

Easy to handle I found (with the exception of a couple of driver errors!) and the helms position is comfortable.

Will do a boat review in a bit actually. We would hire again if it was just the two of us, but now we have my daughter we may well go for something larger next time.

Couldn't get under Wroxham bridge on the day we wanted to though, the pilot said he could get it through at 6'6" but she is 6'9". Just a shame for that particular day where rainfall and spring tides were against us!

I only ever use two knots.

Hi Tom

We do usually have Gala II and never had a problem with the power
availability but normally we don't do more than 4mph anyway.  The only
thing I do find is that in reverse she does pull to starboard no matter
where the rudder is pointing.  In April we had Gardenia II (6ft 10in air
draft) out and she is a lovely boat for 2, 3 or 4 but no powered winch and
she does actually handle better than Gala.
