Made a few minor ones, including a wee bump on the way into a tight mooring at Reedham and a brace of horror stern-ons at Horning's New Inn, but these two almost did for me!

Potter Heigham. I was only going there to show Lizzie and Eden the notorious obstacle, when a Hampton Safari decided to prat about and stop me getting into Wood's yard for my desired turn and escape.

Ended up trying to turn whilst being sucked/blown/wafted towards the bridge, with a LOT of odious ghouls watching from boats, bank and Wood's bridge. Managed it without hitting anything, but it was a pain and an embarrassment.

Next one was on our last morning. It was about 08:00 at Stokesby and we had to have the boat back to Acle at 09:00, so whilst Lizzie was busy picking up various bits of clothing and sweeping the floor, Eden and i decided to cast off.

Now then, Eden is a security conscious little.....tinker....so Houdini would have a problem untying his multiple knots. I was attempting this with his bow mooring whilst he easily unhitched us at the stern.

Why did he then throw the rope aboard? We'll never know. But i was still struggling with his insane bow knots when i heard Lizzie shouting at him to get off and take the rope back with him. Our stern had started to drift in the tide (no doubt he'd given us a shove too) and we ended up with the bow stuck under the bow of our next door neighbour.

What a mess. We managed to rock ourselves from under their bow and a little forward thrust took us back in enough for Eden to untie us.

Horrible. Not disastrous, but horrible.

Definitely saw the funny side Roy. In fact, the second of my attemps at Wroxham Bridge probably came closest to causing my heart to stop as we must have had a millimetre spare on either side!

Anyway, nothing compares to the Wroxham Bridge attempt in 1985 when a crew member separated the boat from its sliding roof! Miraculously we managed to heave and haul it back on, but it was lacking in a few coats of paint!
