Hi All

Here are a few recent pictures showing work in progress by Nutalls at St Benet's Abbey.

As well as the new quay heading work and filling in the lake near the gatehouse, there is now a lot of work going on in the field behind. As you can see, a new dyke is being dug well back from the river between the bank and the causeway. Marker posts show that there is going to be work going on all the way from the Abbey round behind Ant mouth and up the Ant to the Hundred Dyke. I am not sure what is going to be the final outcome, but I suspect that the bank is going to be widened and a new soke dyke created.

This is all going to be a long term project. Notices say it is part of a 20 year flood alleviation plan. A large compound for storing equipment has been created at Ludham Bridge.
