Hi folks.
I'm currently going through the motions of approaching boat yards looking for an apprenticeship in boat building, but need to find an institution that offers the qualification. Do any of you know of anyone already on one of these schemes, or of any colleges that support it?

There's the International Boatbuilding Training College in Lowestoft. I believe Suffolk College in Ipswich may also have a boatbuilding course. I know Hunters Yard have some relationship with at least one of these.

Also try Lowestoft College. They certainly used to do a boatbuilding course.

Try contacting the Anglia Boatbuilders Association (formerly the Norfolk and Suffolk Boatbuilders Association - ouch a clash of initials!) who support the apprenticeship scheme in the region.
