Had a real treat this evening. Had been out chasing roach and watching kingfishers when I got a sudden urge to pootle around the Broad and check out the manor. Mooching along, as all good fishermen do, looking for signs of life, I passed a hire cruiser moored up in a rather shallow area. Seemed only right to let him know that he'd be on the bottom at low water so I did. He responded in a jovial manner, as befits a gentleman of Brighton, and asked if I had heard of 'the Forum'. Since there is ONLY one forum I knew that he meant this one, which he did. And so we got to nattering and so I met both Foggy and his supremely nice family. Made my night, great bunch of people. One of the joys of this forum is the people that inhabit it, lovely!

Foggy's kids, your Dad must be so very proud of you! It was an honour to meet you all.

Jenny Morgan,
Wot is a traditional bit of Norfolk Wherry kit fluttering at the mast head!

To : Jenny Morgan!!What a great person you are & I will do what I can to protect your secret.!!! I loved your  title to your post & echo your & others sentiments about the forum & what it means & certainly what it offers .It was great to meet you the other evening & it made the day if not the week .Your approach to me that evening when not knowing we were both forum members was a classic example of what it can be all about. You are a top person  After you had left I took notice of your kind/polite suggestion and moved back a few yards (that's meters) to you younger people the right side of 50. We had a peaceful night & can confirm I did not awake with a muddy bottom!! I thank you for your kind remarks about my children , they are still confused !!!!!!The week ended this morning back at Brundall & after a safe journey are now home . Brighton v. Brundall/Broads no contest. I will post a brief detail of the week which has some laughs & moments on the Holiday Tales . We did have yet another 'Chuckle on the Chet'
Hope people will enjoy it. Smile

Foggy, it's not such a secret anymore!

I enjoyed reading this too Peter and have to agree. We met (or passed!) quite a few forum members during our recent holiday (story to follow when I have the time!!) and found them all to be delightful people. There is no doubt, that involvement in the form adds something to our enjoyment of the Broads.

Nothing special, Foggy, all of us who miss out the T's from our words, were weaned on Bullards Mild, grew up on Steward & Patterson and matured on Adnams Broadside tend to turn out okay Playful Wink !

By the way, did you catch much?

Jenny Morgan,
Being the name of my boat and the generic name applied to the flag atop of a Norfolk Wherry mast, unique to Broadland. Now you know!
