Hello All

Whilst still looking forward to our week on he Broads in October, we are trying to plan for 2014 as well. A week of fishing from a chalet on the Thurne is our target, but I note that some are located quite a distance from car parks. This is a problem for one of us who is unable to walk far.
Looking for advice and recomendations from anyone who knows of properties with nearby parking, would prefer not to be marina based.

Regards

Ron

Have a look for Brundal, many riverside properties with car parking alongside. Also a good fishing spot.

5 or so years back we stayed at Moon River at Martham and as far as I can recall it was only a very short walk from the car park as was about the 2nd or 3rd bungalow. If you do an internet search for Moon River Martham it should come up as the owners have their own website.

Thanks Karen

I have noted Moonriver, it does fit the bill but just trying to find alternatives.

and there is a map link on there which shows Moonriver exactly on satellite image so you can see how near it is to car park.

Look at the Herbert woods at potter website,  they have a bungalow on the main river beside the boatyard, parking is behind it in HW yard

Martham boats have a couple of cottages adjacent to their car park, we have staid in one which was very nice.

Broadlands is at Herbert Woods and is right by Potter Heigham Bridge.   You can park your car just behind the cottage and it is all on one level.   No stairs.

Very comfortable and warm.  You have Lathams over the road for fresh bread everyday, every day except Christmas Day and their shop is now well stocked for provisions.   The fishing shop is there for all your fishing needs.

We have often stayed there in Winter and Summer.    Watersedge is over the bridge so that would be out of the question but Broadlands would be ideal.
