It seems every holiday we have bad news. The thought of a rib with 300hp running free is dreadful. What happened to the kill cord? A happy family out boating destroyed in seconds.

Captain Howe.
Please leave the water and banks as you would wish to find them.

Cannot even begin to imagine what has happened here.  What did spring to mind we the clip that was posted (last year) of some idiot in a small rib who fell into the River Ant I think it was and the boat went round and round him.   Perhaps on hearing this he will then realise how very lucky he was.     He tipped out because he was messing about at speed.

Many people simply don't appreciate the danger of high power RIBs. They are great fun but there performance far exceeds their maneuvering capabilities, which when exceeded bring the craft to a shuddering halt or can even cause it to flip over.

Condolences to the families of the lost and injured.

A lesson to us all methinks:

If you do not respect the water it certainly will not respect you.

So........just WHAT makes you think we are sinking?

My condolences to the family, but what possessed them to be on a speeding boat with such young children on board, was it their own negligence at speeding or was the boat to blame, whichever it was it is still a tragedy .

What an awful thing to happen.  My sympathies all round especially to the injured.

There have been a number of MAIB reports on injuries and incidents involving these high-powered, high-speed ribs.  Often involving severe spinal damage from slamming down.  Often inappropriate sitting on sponsons rather than seats have been involved.
