Hi
From the EDP today a private 25 foot cruiser sank this morning at Marina Quays Great Yarmouth. No one was on the cruiser at the time.

I wonder if that is the boat that used to belong to a member here some time back. Bryure I think their name was.

That would be my guess, Keith. We passed her last month and she was looking in a very sorry state and obviously unloved for some time.

A very real shame as she was a nice boat under the previous owner...

Its amazing how quickly a boat can go into decline. Whoever bought that boat must have done virtually nothing to it from the day they got it. Such a shame. Two much more expensive boats that spring to mind for similar reasons are, the one on the right hand side at Rockland staithe just beyond the large cast iron poles. A large sea going boat that has grown more and more algae over time and never looks loved or moves. The other is on the approach to The Hermitage moorings from downstream on the left hand bank. Has Green canopy and I think says Horning on the back. That was a stunning boat when it was first moored there, but over time has just looked more and more unloved.

Not any other boats of that size there as far as I can remember.
Shame if it is but not surprising really !  tounge-in-cheek

Some on will be coming back from the south at the end of the week so will see then!

Keith
I was talking to the owner of the boat at Rockland about 10 days ago.
He was starting to clean her up, put new batteries on and prepare for the BSS.

He use to own the pub a few years ago and is now thinking of leaving the UK to retire ( again? )

Hi all
Does anyone have a pre sinking photo of the Yarmouth boat so I have some idea of what it is (was)?

Regards
Geoff
