We returned on monday from a fantastic trip, the weather was scorchoooooooo especially on friday, i found out that the barton angler is still closed and that they are trying to gain planning to return it to a private residance. We had a great meal at the fir and feathers at woodbastwick, it was packed as usual and then a poor meal at neatishead at the white horse, a poor selection, does anyone else have any comments on it.  We thought it was the best time to go down before a bank holiday as it did not seem too busy and moorings were plentiful. here are a few pics!!

Never rated The White Horse at Neatishead...found it to be overpriced and under quality. Mind you...haven't been there for a couple of years so things may have changed...

Hi Toby

We used the Saddlery in October and found it excellent.Normally would have gone in the Barton Anglers Conservatory but guess what    it was closed that day.

Hi Toby

Nice photo, but there was an essential bit of the boat missing - I can't read the reg.no. Mad  any chance of a PM to let me know for the DATABASE - I assume she is yours and not for hire, it's very difficult with the boats based at Sutton, identical writing to the old hire fleet - already been told off by one owner for having their boat in Sutton Staithe's fleet Blush

Things certainly have changed at the White Horse.. The guy who ran it for years (rather well I thought) sold up after his wife sadly died towards the end of last year.

Saddlery was very good when we ate there last Sept (after a bit of a walk from Gays Staithe after finding the Barton Angler shut - though we now know its not worth a visit anyway since it changed hands...)

They have a couple of nice rooms for B& B too, if you want to stay an extra day or so after taking your hire boat back, or even the night before you pick up, if you have long journey.

Karen

cheers!
