Some of you may be more than a little amused by this!!

We regularly trek up the Ant between How Hill and Irstead, amongst other places, and for over a year or so, we have been puzzled by something solid up a tree at Mud Point!

Finally found the opportunity to send one of the younger lads up the tree, about 30' or so, to find not a bat box, not a nesting box or even some rubbish, but an URN !!!

All original, with name engraved, securely fastened to one of the upper branches!!!!

We of course left it there but just don't all of you get the same idea - it may clutter the view!!!

Perhaps the BA could make some money to defray costs, a scattering service!! Playful Wink

I didn't realize that that was the dead centre of the Broads!

I have to say that I have mixed feelings about this one.

The Broad Sword team might be in for a shock one of these days.

A number of folk have had their ashes spread on Oulton Broad, and one day, it might, just might be dredged.

I have heard that local folk living on or around the Broads cannot have their ashes scattered anywhere on Broads waters,

The reason??

They're not dead yet  LOL

Sorry, I'll just get my coat   Blush   -  Griff

They might have been alive when they expressed their wishes or wrote their wills!

Hello

Just to be serious for one moment if I may I would just like to say that my father in law who passed away 16 months ago expressed a wish that his ashes were scatted at South Weald Cricket club in Essex as he was a founder memeber of the club and also loved the game. The other love of his life was the broads and going to his holiday home at Potter nearly every weekend. I will remember him sitting in the garden on a sunny day with his big panama hat on, smoking his pipe, reading the times newspaper and listening to the test match on the radio.
When we had to scatter the ashes my husband thought it would be nice to also take some to Norfolk and put some on the lawn out to the back of the property, this we done, and I'm sure dad would of been very pleased that we would of done this too.

Today would of been his birthday and what better way for me to remember him then on the NBF forum.

Happy Birthday RGA

Thank you and a happy new year to you all.

Maxine   Smile

Slow down and enjoy life, its not only the scenery you miss by going to fast, you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.....
