I heard about 3 months ago i asked john and his reply was not nice to hear. looked at 2 boats which are still for sale, one was 10g the other 30g when i asked about a survey he said a waste of time his boats were ok don,t need one i left at that point.
have spoke to 2 owners that had just purchased from him and very much regret not having a survey done!!

I Echo Sadie's post. We bought a real pup on his advice.  As first time buyers we were looking for genuine advice- didn't get it. Regardless of our feelings personally for Jon it is a real shame to see that yard go as a working yard as they are no alternatives. I understood some time ago that he was asked to vacate but that he was unwilling to do so. I would hope that the moorings would stay but a lot of owners will miss the yard.

Regards Pauline

Is the title of the thread correct? As I understand, Wayford Boat Sales are Vintage Boat Sales and nothing to do with Wayford Marine Services!

That's all well and good boating tone  it if you are first time buyers then you can hardly be at fault for trusting someone with a lot of knowledge .
Steve maybe the mods should get active on other threads when it comes to defending a member , as I said previously I'm sure Jon will make a statement at some point but to censor people's real life experiences is totally wrong .

The fact is Steve yiu asked people not to post things that were negative and that is not moderation , and no I'm not entirely happy about the way some ate performing , mods need to read all threads not just some .
I should have to contact Richard to be honest that why their is a team of mods isn't it .

Rickh

The mods are here to moderate the forum not to act as personal bodyguards for someone who insists on going to war with the rest of the world, one consequence of putting yourself on a pedestal is others will try and knock you off.

Brian if you have an issue with me take it up by pm not here , my post was referring to the post by a mod at 1.10 pm today in which he announced that people should not jump on this thread to discredit someone for no reason , that bit I agree with bit it also could curtail anyone who has had a real life experience be I good or bad from posting , that's what I mean , quite why you made it personal is not particularly appreciated but by the same token I'm not surprised in the slightest that you didn't give up an opportunity to have a dig at a member , maybe you are not wearing you mod hat but that doesn't mean that you have a right to control free speech .
As I said if you have an issue then pm me , this thread is not the place .
