I received a very pleasant letter from Pacific Cruisers this week, offering me, as a previous hirer, a discount of £25 off a week's booking. Not a huge discount I know & a little slow off the mark for 2007, but a worthwhile offer nevertheless I thought.

This is the first time I've ever been offered a 'previous hirer' discount. Has anybody else been lucky enough to get this from anywhere?

I agree Jimbo, although in my case alas, it costs me a lot more than £25 in fuel to get to Norfolk & back- doh!

Moores offers free fuel to all previous customers. Always has and they don't charge anyone for car parking. I used to hire boats off them every year for many years until I bought my own boat from them. In fact I bought the actuaal boat I used to hire so I reckon I know it better than they ever did.

Free fuel for previous hirers is an excellent deal & not one I knew about. I also noticed that Moores' short break prices are very reasonable. Where most boatyards now charge 70% of a full week's hire for 3 or 4 nights, Moores' rates are nearer 60%.

Hi!  Summercraft offer all repeat customers free fuel.  This was also offered to me when I followed my favourite boat over from Bristers, so extra bonus points to Sue for that!!!!  Bristers also did "special" discounts on 2nd holidays taken during the year.  What a shame they called it a day.  For those who know Bristers, David now works at Summercraft!

This thread is starting to reveal some excellent information, thanks everybody! I've hired from Alpha before (albeit 10 years ago) so I may try phoning them direct next time I book!

In my experience most good (usually the smaller, which is NOT a coincidence) yards offer loyal customers a very good deal. Sometimes you have to ask, sometimes it is just offered.
