My hubby thinks it might be rude and unfriendly if he was to come to Norfolk and not try the local brewery. I just wondered where the best establishment was for such research. Is it possible to walk from a mooring to the brewery without wearing my little legs out? Thanks Liz

Fir And Feather is the PUB next door, Funny thing is i only live a few miles away by road, but have never visited via River. You can Moor at Salhouse Broad, but its about a 25 min walk from there. A Nice walk i have to say AS i often visit Salhouse Broad via Boat and via Car. You could kill two birds on the 1st Night. From Wroxham to Salhouse Broad, Stern on mooring, then a walk to the Fir and Feather for some great local Ales. and food ?

A must place to visit - the pub has great food and a selection of ales second to none on the Broads - start at the left and move along the barrels, beware they do get very strong!!! RJL

Here's a Pic, you can see that Salhouse Broad is the Closest place to Moor To Visit. The Fir and Feather had a Extension last year to the Restaurant, the Extension is Air Conditioned http://www.brianpaulgardner.co.uk/boat/woodefords.jpg

May be worth booking if going for a meal http://www.thefurandfeatherinn.co.uk/ Food just as good as the beer! And the walk from Salhouse Broad will work up your appetite, needed for the large portions

The 1lb Steak & Kidney Pudding is hard to resist so I don't. The danger with the F&F is really falling for the Woodfordes brews. You then are tempted to go round the back to the Brewery Shop and get an 18 pint beerbox. It doesn't sound a lot but it don't half get heavy after just a few yards even. No problem - a day or so before takeover we get one delivered to the boatyard so it is ready for us to take aboard. Why not drop in for a bite on your way to Wroxham and you can put a box in the boot, I'm sure there will be room.

Like Brian I only live a few mile from The Fur & Feathers, how lucky is that!! The standards for the food are excellent, slightly more expensive than some Broads Pubs but the quality is soooo much better! Obviously the range of Woodfordes is the best, with all the range on offer. We were in their on Sunday night, Jo had a 'Nogin Yorky' and I had the 'Bangers & Mash' both excellent. I also tried my first pint of the new seasonal beer 'Sundew' 4.1% light amber bitter but stighlty larger like colour, absolutley fantasic a real winner Wish I hadn't been in the car a couple more pints would have been very nice indeed!
Kind regards, John(Captain Joshie)& Jo, 'Rosie L'Ondine' L799.

Clive, my hubby Bill never shuts up about those, so much so that were going straight there for Lunch next time were down, even before we pick our keys up! Hes not much of a drinker, and when he does its normally Beamish or Guiness, so although the brewery around the back is an intresting visit, and purchases will be for gifts back home! Sadly Im not allowed much of the stuff either, due to its sugar content,it would just make me fall asleep, But I do love the Woodfoordes Brews Julia

Thanks for the info folks. Much appreciated especially the map. I feel a visit might be in order at some point. We will have to see how the bridge and the water level goes over the next 2 weeks then find investigate the possibility of getting a C45 through.
