This place has to be visited - Woodforde's brewery tap, only half an hour's walk at worst from the waterside (moor opposite the Ferry in Horning, two miles on quiet roads, or pay through the nose at Salhouse and walk about a mile). Wonderful beer, food, service and surroundings.

I agree that the pub is worth the walk. But I've never had to pay to moor at Salhouse.

There has been a massive increase in mooring charges at Salhouse. It's now £8 per night. Not worth it in my view.

The mooring fees at Salhouse are a recent change thanks to change of ownership - £8 for no facilities is dreadful! Anyway the pub is definately not to be missed..... The beer as you would expect does not come better than this! 'Headcracker' if you dare! But 'Nelson's Revenge' is a personal favourite... So what makes a good beer pub even better??? A good beer pub that serves top class value for money food!!! Its all here at the Fur and feathers along with the atmosphere you would expect!!!! Best get a cab if not visiting via the broad though!!! Melb

Ah yes, I was wrong... We dropped into Salhouse last week, and saw the signs about charges - but didn't have to pay... if someone came to collect, we were in the pub (smile). The signs talk about improvements - and there's a box for suggestions. More on that elsewhere..

You were lucky! We checked this out a couple of weeks ago... t seems that 24 hour mooring is £8 but overnight is £6..... I have heard of a few freinds that have missed the payment! They come around by motorised tender for your money.... The good news that isn't on the boards is that they are not charging mooring fees out of season (from November 1st)... Melb
