I agree - it used to be a nice little pub, I thought that there used to be a village shop in a portacabin on the street, but that appears to have moved to the pub, staff were not helpful - all I wanted to do was buy a pack of fags, and i was rather rudly told to go to the pub.
I would disagree with the above comments... Sid (the new landlord) has made a vast improvement - I ate the Thai Green Curry on the menu a week ago washed down with a couple of excellent pints of Broadside... 10/10 for quality plus I did not consider the price above average...

Like melb I ate there last week and found the Lamb shank washed down with a couple of pints of Speckled Hen in the company of friends rounded off the day. Keep it up Sid.
