Hi all. I had my first broads holiday back in '97 and I remember a pub that we all visited, I tried to find it last year on my first visit back.....can I find it.....no.
Can anyone tell me, was there ever a pub at the end of Langley dyke?
I've tried google maps, I've studied normal maps, I'd really like to find this place.
Help.

It was called the Wherry. Closed a few years ago, now a private house, I'm afraid.

What a shame. I wasn't old enough to have a pint there at the time but always thought I could go back and enjoy the really nice ambiance.
I'm in the trade so I know how hard it is to get by sometimes on a day to day basis. My pub is very seasonal but the wrong way rounds, ie winter is ten times better than summer.
Roll on June 23rd!!!

It was a Ex London lorry driver, Trevor, that ran the pub there for a while, then he moved to St Olaves at the New Cut.

Ah, Trev's Dive at St Olaves! Happy days (what I can remember of them)! Seem to recall the electric tripping out every time the kitchen put on more than one microwave!

This is the Wherry in 2008. It had quite a sad history, I believe it was occupied by squatters at one time who caused a lot of damage.
