Just visited a new place in Coltishall called A Piece of Cake. a guy dropped off a leaflet on my boat
Its a old fashioned tea shoppe but the breakfast in a bap is cool. The usual eateries round there dont offer a good breakfast so it was good to find somewhere to eat.
Stayed on the moorings at the rising sun for most of the day and had a cream tea there too ,her indoors got fat on the other cakes

Nice to see something new

Yes, we too were handed a leaflet a couple of weeks ago and decided to check the place out the next day.

Decided I would post up the details but due to access probs over the last couple of weeks I have been AWOL! Smile

It is indeed good to have a new place in that neck of the woods. And as we usually prefer a breakfast cooked FOR us (in any form) then it's worth the walk to work up the appetite and then enjoy the food.

For anyone else interested, its up in the village just beyond the little mini market, opposite the garage. Basically, keep walking up the hill from the moorings after the Rising Sun and Kings Head, past the church and onwards until you reach the little junction on the green - it's then round to your right.

I recall it didn't open till 10.00 am.

Good luck to the owners.

Walk past a pub Karen - God forbid  Playful Wink

Never been lucky enough to get under the bridge as yet,
but when we do we'll definitely give the breakfast bap
a try.

Perhaps a smaller hire boat would help too  Playful

Nice to have you back aboard

regards

Jon

Well it was about 9.30 in the morning Jon! So I am, hopefully, excused.

The Coltishall run is a favourite, and as a result, its proving difficult to find a new boat! We fancied a bit more space (isn't that always the same - be it tents, caravans, or boats? the desire for bigger and better comes along at some point Smile  )

We are 6'10" with top down  and 23' long. We've had her for 5 seasons and she is a cracking boat with clever layout and in good nick, so we really should drop the idea. Could never give up that stretch of the river - its really one of the best. So get yourself a suitable boat and we'll see you up there for tea and cakes or a pint.

Cheers, Karen
