Have just got back from the Broads and although I've been a member for quite some time this is my first post for ages. The reason for this is the White Swan at North Quay, Gt Yarmouth. Having seen that it got a silver award in the "Where to eat on the Broads" we thought we would give it a go. I have not been so impressed by a pub for a very long time. The food was excellent, all homecooked and incredibly good value. The decor was lovely, landlady very friendly and the ladies toilets better than Harrods!!. A real find, I really recommend it.

Kind Regards,  Andrea

Pop along there on a Friday evening if the sun is shining.

A good bunch of people turn up there for a ride and chat

I must really try and make the effort to visit on a Friday night when I take the Tiger down in the summer, looks like a must.

Does anyone know if this pub serves meals on Sunday nights?

I cannot find a website for this pub to find out.

Local knowledge required

Thank you

The Monday to Saturday sign refers to their 2-for-1 deal; two very good meals for eight quid? Can't be beaten and the missus and I take advantage of it quite regularly.

I've had a reasonable Sunday lunch there on occasion, as for Sunday evening I'll double-check next time I'm in GY and post on here.

Yeah, as you probably suspected during Winter the White Swan's kitchen closes on a Sunday at 18:00; but if you're into Indian food, the New Jaipur in King Street does a three courses off their normal menu deal for £9.95 on Wednesdays and Sundays.

I'm not always such a cheapskate though - last week I took the missus for a Saturday night meal at Pamela's and the bill came to £186.48. Admittedly it included quite a few Mojitos!

If you want really good fish & chips to take back to the boat try the Crystal fish bar just across the road from the White Swan on fullers Hill. They are top notch.
