Can anybody tell me the history of the large chimney on the River Yare. It's just outside Brundall near the Rockland St Mary turn off. There is also one on the River Waveney.

The one opposite Rockland dyke is I believe, a pumping station - in the earlier days they would have been steam driven. When they were converted to electricity, I suspect they knocked down the old chimneys.

It is an old pumping station. There is another one on the Waveney just upstream of Somerleyton.
