Hi,

Stumbled across this forum while researching a route.  We have a 4 night cruise starting tomorrow (26th August) on Ruby Gem from Richardson's boat yard.

Looking at doing a route to Wroxham and back.  Our children are 8 and 10 and normally very physically active!  Are there any places on route where they can let off steam?  Have read the things to do with children on the Richardson's site, it's more short walks from moorings to parks along the way or a pub with a playground in along the way?

Many thanks,

Mrs Big Hair

Hi there
Stokesby is an ideal spot or over night spot , mooring next to play park / green , also riverside pub next to it , ranworth stathie is ideal to , green area with tea rooms and pub ,
St bennetts abbey is good area to let a bit of steam of , look around the abbey ruins to ,
Last night , Sutton stathie , green area , play park rear of pub , next to the moorings , 20 minute boat cruise back to richardsons boat yard from there

There are swings etc. on the Horning playing field.
Bewilderwood, a couple of miles walk from Horning, expensive though.

We love the Broads

Hi and welcome keep the crew and skipper safe with the life jackets they provide. Should be worn as ships uniform.
Have a great time.

Unfortunately our car broke down 45mins from the yard and coming from Birmingham with a single trio toe we've had to turn back.

Hopefully we'll get to try your suggestions another time.  Many thanks for getting back to us Smile

Many thanks

Bighair

Oh my goodness ! -  you got within 45 minutes of your holiday and had to turn back? What a shame there was no alternative, and no doubt at that late stage you were unable to cancel and obtain any sort of refund?

Hope the car made the journey back home ok after you turned back. Sorry your family missed out, hope you get another trip sorted.
