Just come back from a week on a hire boat. Tried all week but not a pike in site unfortunately. A lot of Pike fisherman on most parts of the system but we never saw a fish caught by anyone. Fishing for the small fish in the day was very patchy,We got fish in Wroxham boat yard,Horning and Stalham boat yard and the mouth of Barton Broad but the main rivers and Broads were hard work last week which i think may have been due to the colour and levels of the water in part. At night we still had some good bream hauls and some of the fish were of a nice size as well which was a nice surprise at this time of year.We found you would get 3 or 4 fish in as many casts then they were gone for a bit then back again with the same result. Most baits were ok,Worm and Sweetcorn,Double Sweetcorn or even double red Maggot and Sweetcorn so plenty of options available.

Yes thanks we had a great time as we always do on the broads. It was nice to see it at this time of the year with all the trees turning colour as it's normally mid summer when we go so it gave us something different to look at plus we booked the very last week of Richardson's boats hire for this year and a lot of them we're not out so it was nice to be able to moor where ever we wanted for a change.
