Lovely pics, both of them. We narrowly missed out on a Broom Bosun ( and I think there are only 3?) that came up for sale on the Thames about 4 or more years ago. We were going on hols and thus had to arrange a viewing with the owners for our return, by which time she had already been snapped up by a viewer before us. Lovely boats. We had previously made an offer on a Boson on the Broads when on brokerage, quite a few years back, but despite being what the broker called a good offer, close to the asking price, it was not accepted. Seems we are destined to stick with our bit of plastic fantastic , lol. Easy to maintain at least, and most definitely what I call a "wash and go" boat. Karen

Hi Both, I think thats my boat @ Geldeston Locks (still have that flag) and it was the one for sale 4 years ago, there were 3 built, one was destroyed on a bridge, there is another called Vagabond and then mine, so only two left sadly. Lovely boat and and feel very lucky to own her. Thanks Andy

Is this the same boat that was on hire in the late eighties by Compass Craft at Horning? The one we hired was called Compass Prince. Howard

I think they were Bournes, not Brooms. Will have to dig around on Craig's database ( Horning.org) tomorrow if at get a min. You can take a look yourself - use the "links" link at the bottom of the page , then choose boats of the Norfolk Broads. If Craig has the details there may also be a pic for you. It's possible to search by boat name, even part name, as well as boatbuilders. Karen

Thanks Karen - have checked and it looks like you are correct. From Craigs database there were 3 boats called Compass prince. 2&3 have a sliding head which I remember so we must have hired one of those. The Ocean 30 hull spawned quite a few variations - Herbert Woods also used them for their version of the Broom Skipper/30. I will have to dig out the old photo's and see if I can confirm the reg number of the boat we had. Howard

If anyone has any more images of N529 (Bosun) that would be great.
