But to which "neighbouring company" has Len Funnell sold Ferry Marina? The most obvious neighbour at Horning is Richardsons.

I thought this had been well covered here - its gone to the Cator Family who currently own the old Southgates yard and the the Marina on the other side of the river.

Incidentally this epitomises the quality of the EDP reporting - online there was a nice interview with Len, talking about the hire industry and that he had moved built up the Ferry yard and invested heavily - which he has - and the film included, rather than pictures of his yard, pictures of the Richardsons yard in Horning!!

It would be nice if the EDP occasionally verified what they put out but heigh ho!!

Here is man with a vision and a dream. He stated off working for CoSalt in Grimsby I think as a sail maker .Went on to own Abbey caravans .Spent his holidays on the Broads and the rest is history. He actually bought my grandfather's old house and transformed that as well. Some good things do come from Grimsby!

'Fraid not! That was purchased by Mark King about 18 mths ago and he has plans for that I believe. Incidentally Mark and his father sold Ferry to Len - all a bit convoluted!!

Thank you for answering my question, Marshman. I must have missed the previous coverage. I'll try to be more attentive in future.

Only a guess, but how about a hire fleet running out of WRC. It would add a much needed facility to the southern broads.
