I have just come across a new video on You tube, it seems to be titled:- 1950's Norfolk Broads holiday. it has been published by Springfield Mount. 6 days ago. I would have a guess at 1956, just as I remember things. A real gem of a film. No glass fibre in sight, just lots of varnished wood and white paint, with so many sailing boats, I am sure that the water levels were lower, especially when you see Potter Heigham Bridge..

Hi Chris, thank you! What an absolutely lovely film, amazing to think how in the last sixty years the broads has been ruined by greed, selfishness and an unelected quango!

Yes I watched it last week when it first appeared, one of the best old school films out there, love the bit demonstrating the Herbert woods canopy lowering.

Yes I have to agree, the wheelhouse on that boat is pure poetry:-)
Along with the square ice cream. When did they stop making those.

What a superb film, thank you for posting Chris !
I have just got back from a few days on Martham's Juliette and it was glorious to see the Broads above Potter almost as depicted in the film. Huge relative clearance through PH Bridge though in the film; just look at those side arches ! We went through with 5 ft 10 ins and just scraped through (literally !).
What a fantastic display of Woodies too . That and the look of joy on that little boy's face has made my morning before I attack my garden !!

Best wishes, Charles
