I think we should have barriers across the rivers
To be lifted by inserting a card
Therfore Pay as you go just like the M6 toll road
More money for the big rivers
Just imagine the mayhem on the three rivers race
If only it was the 1st of April

So Richard, where do we raise the money which should be spent on "infrastructure"? The BA's total budget would not even create an itch, let alone enough to scratch it!

Or perhaps the local residents should pay through council funding? After all they would all benefit from this improvement in local infrastructure so why not make them pay? How about making Oulton Broad/Lowestoft residents paying to subsidise the local convenience stores and the wine bars - which they clearly don't want or they would use them?

MM, I might have not made my point very well.

Yes the BA has to spend an amount of money to do the fine job they do, BUT they need to get their income in a better way. If the BA was a business they would have gone bust a long time ago.

They fail to listen to stakeholders, or even understand who the stakeholders are! Are the HBO's the major stakeholder?

How many reedcutters are there now after the training programs?

How many of the BA committee really have an interest in the area, rather than putting something on their CV.

I've spent many years running this forum, and in my own way try and support the Broads, and do what little I can to help the area. Do you know how many members of the Committee have ever contacted me? Two, and the other has now left.

So apologies if I sound like a grumpy old man. But's that what I am.
