Q1. What is the cost of an electric post/tower. (Unit cost and the total cost including unit and installation)?
Total Cost of Pillar including accommodation works is around £1700.
Q2. What is the average cost per linear meter for each supply from the grid to each mooring location?
UK Power Networks have to provide all the excavation and the connection time to the mains and charge between £100 and £300 per metre. This can include provision of new transformers, working at height and connection to pylons etc. Other contractor costs per metre to install cable in a ducted trench are approximately £35 per metre depending on the site and surfacing.
Q3. Does the BA intend to increase the number of electric points/moorings, If yes, what time scale is there to increase them?
We would love to install more – the constraint is finance. Historically we have added 2 to 3 pillars per year to our network. This has sometimes been to extend the numbers of pillars on one site or to start a new installation on another. Today the Broads Authority has agreed to install pillars at the Acle Bridge moorings funded by an increase in tolls.
Thank You for your reply John Does this mean £1700 for each meter ie 3x £1700 or is this the isolated cost for one meter as at Rockland where there is only one meter, What will the total cost be for meters at Acle be please .John

RE Surlingham - is this meter on the BA mooring on the Postwick side or in the pub garden? If the latter I suspect it is not a BA post but belonging to the pub - or perhaps not???
