Yes I remember it there, also remember when riverside holidays had they're shed / hut to the side of lathams, now they operate from a caravan on the old pub area ,next to the chippie ,

Looks like four wherries, one of which is in Herbert Woods basin, and another appears to be flying a very large flag from it's masthead. What looks odd to me is the vessel under full sail going downwind in what is now the day-boat dyke to the left of the bridge.

Wonder what the occasion was? Judging by the number of people congregated around the moorings and on the bridge, and the decorated boats, it must have been some sort of celebration. First forum meet?
Regards, Ray. Whatever happens now, I'm blaming it on Brexit. Everyone else is!

Throwback Thursday! See what the Herbert Woods 'Jollidays' brochure looked like back in 1930's which is a remarkable glimpse into the pioneering years of motor cruiser development and the modern Broads boating holiday. There are also some wonderful photographs taken around the Broads-Haven yard here at Potter Heigham. A huge thank you to Broadland Memories for the post which you can read here.. http://www.broadlandmemories.co.uk/blog/2018/06/jollidays-herbert-woods-in-the-early-1930s/ Broadland Memories

In answer to Regulo's question, the occasion would have been the annual Potter Heigham Regatta. Notice the fairground top right. Video of the Regatta on Broadland Memories show competitive racing in all manner of vessels and other water 'frolics'!

https://youtu.be/nkRB8KOXKs4 Potter Heigham regatta 1930s, I think that boat in the dinghy dyke will be rigging or unrigging from a race, if he's rigging he's going to have a heck of a job getting the boat out...
