It's a place that is living on its reputation, I'm afraid. 15 (or more) years ago, they did very good lines in Doulton china (seconds) and end-of-line brand-named clothing (with the labels cut out), etc. Then I think they had a change of buyer. Those bargains disappeared and it became just another QD store, but a bit scruffier than most of them. A few big-name brand items of clothing (with the labels cut out) have started to re-appear recently, but on nowhere near the same scale.

I used to be able to just 'pop in' for one item and end up spending close on £100 on the bargains, but no longer.

And their refund policy is they only take back defective goods. Buy an item of clothing and find out when you get home that it doesn't fit...tough. OK, so they are within their rights, but Roy's, M&S, Next, and just about all the major retailers, have a more liberal policy.

And I never knew that there was such a great chance to raise the height of the bridge.

Anyone else call in to pick replacement Pink, Green, Blue or Yellow Dawn plates etc. to fill the gaps of broken ones, at a fraction of the price the yard would charge for breakages?

Having owned a number of cars of that period including 2 P4 Rovers (a 90 and a 100), it isn't a 95 and definitely not a 2000. I'm fairly sure it's a '59-on facelift model Standard Ensign. I've also owned 2 of the other cars in that picture, a Morris Minor and a Ford Consul Mk2.

I would have said that the car on the extreme right was a Humber either Hawk or Snipe, an earlier one with wrap round rear window, what's behind the Consul I would not like to say.
