Anyone remember Trev's Dive on the little road leading down from the Haddiscoe bridge? Had some good times there. Little more than glorified sheds. Don't know if it had a real name, that's what we called it after the guy that ran it, who previously had the Wherry at Langley. He had ambitions to do up the big white building into a restaurant, but don't think he made it. It's still empty, AFAIK.
Regards, Ray. Whatever happens now, I'm blaming it on Brexit. Everyone else is!

Whereabouts in Loddon was the Fox and Hounds please, Graham47? I don't remember it. I like the idea of a Pub Donkey!

I think it was at the far end of the High Street, on the road out to the A146. Just managed a visit or two before it closed. Regards, Ray. Whatever happens now, I'm blaming it on Brexit. Everyone else is!

Ah yes, of course; thank you Regulo. I remember the buildings being converted to housing around fifteen years ago but didn't know the pub (or the donkey!).

Hello all. I have just recently inherited some of my Grandads old photos. He was the owner of the fox and hounds. I put fox and hounds loddon donkey in the search engine and found myself here. Here’s the photos.

Hi, Jimbob, welcome. Those were the days! Couldn't get away with it now, I suppose. Health and safety, hygiene regs etc. etc.

That’s my Grandad in the photos. Alfred Scarfe but everyone called him Kelly. The Donkey was called Billy. He almost trampled me when I was a toddler. He adored my Grandad and my Grandma Monica and used to get very jealous of anyone else around them! Those photos were taken during the 1970 World Cup in Mexico. My Mum was born in the Pub and it’s now owned by my Mums’ best mate.

There were over 57 pubs at or near the river at one time, our club had a list that you ticked of when visited for a pint or more, one of the more pleasures that broads boating use to have.John
