Remember it well. A "Must visit" on our list in the early 80's. Not sure who the Guv was at that time. I know my cousin won us a round of drinks by beating him on the Pacman machine! Unfortunately, Neatishead couldn't really support 2 pubs and the Saddlery restaurant (3 pubs if you include the Barton Angler), so now there's only the White Horse left, which is doing rather well by attracting out-village custom.
Regards, Ray. Whatever happens now, I'm blaming it on Brexit. Everyone else is!

I used the Eagle quite often in the seventies and early eighties and I remember the hundreds of beer mats pinned to the ceiling. At that time I went less frequently to the White Horse due to the unfriendly woman that ran it and the poor quality of the beer. Brian.

His surname was Brooks his wife was Pat his mother in law was Alice, Just remembered his name, George. I cannot remember the large Alsatian dog's name or the twelve bore both of which saw off the Norwich Brewery area manager, he was banned from 11 of the pubs in his are; including mine the Ship at South Walsham.

I remember The Horseshoes around the early 1970's. Yes it is still next to the Kings Head but boarded up and hidden by trees and undergrowth.A sad sight when you get close up to it. Martin W.

Remember these others? The Anchor, Coltishall. The Ship, Beccles. The Wherry, Langley Dyke. The Railway (Top House), Reedham. Probably a load more!

I remember visiting the broadshaven a few times in the late 70's and 80's and the Bridge Inn. Remember there were trophy fish on the walls, then in the 90's they almost went down the night club route

Another good one was the Fox and Hounds at Loddon. They had a donkey that they used to bring into the bar every night and give it a bottle of Guinness. It made the headlines in the paper in those days.
