I have found some movie film of the Fairy Garden. Something I have been trying to find for years. You can see it on this link (scroll down a bit). http://www.ludhamarchive.org.uk/birds.htm If you have any information about the Fairy Garden or any pictures, please get in touch. Nigel Ludham

I only remember walking round a bit of woodland, and seeing an assortment of concrete animals. Never knew all that existed. But we probably crept in through a gap in a fence, knowing my family!
Regards, Ray. It's the 21st century . . . so where's my nuclear-powered flying car, then?

I must have gone there as a child in the 60s. I distinctly remember that man falling down the well (bound to make an impression on kids) and some stone animals. I shall ask my aged parents if they have any recollection. I do not think that such an "attraction" would get too many visitors nowadays!

My kids would love to look around the fairy garden if it was still around today, me too, I wonder if any of the exhibits still exist, maybe scattered around Ludham in peoples gardens?

The Fairy Garden dates back to the days when the rather eccentric Mrs Brooks owned The Manor. There is more information here http://www.ludhamarchive.org.uk/manorvis.htm As for the actual exhibits, one or two of them are still there but most are now gone. It was a long time ago. People who were village children at the time used to take a short cut through the Fairy Garden from the village to Womack Staithe. This is no longer possible. The fish had eyes that lit up. Any further information would be much appreciated. Nigel Ludham

Good to see a picture of Bill the Cockatoo, I adored him as he would greet us by saying 'hello Bill' in a very sweet voice. Bill was my father's name, it never dawned on me, as a child, that it was the bird's name too.
