Working on a lifeboat was always an ambition of mine. Sadly unfulfilled.
Despite owning a house for years,  three or four hundred yards from a lifeboat station. I have never been able to spend enough time there to even apply. It is simply not feasible workwise.
I have great admiration for those that do actually do the job. Being unpaid volunteers doing such dangerous work as all you need to know about them.
