I would have said it was on the canal network somewhere, not the Broads. There are several canal boats in the picture. Simon

And is that a Freeman with an outboard motor moored over on the RHS? It could be anywhere, not dissimilar to the bottom end of Foxton Locks in Leicestershire, but I don't think it's there.

I know its an old post but I recognized this instantly, the photo is taken from the Ow'd Tithe Barn Inn it's in the basin in the centre of Garstang which is a lovely market town full of character, we had our boat moored here for several years until we sold her last month. The Lancaster canal is a hidden gem with almost 40 miles of lock free cruising from Preston through Garstang, Lancaster,Carnforth and beyond. It really is a beautiful canal. John.
Kind Regards John.

quote:"...... Ow'd Tithe Barn Inn ......." I remember it well, although I haven't visited it in years. In her latter years I often went there with my Grandmother. Born in 1904 and having grown up in Garstang, she had tales of skating for miles along the canal when it froze. Robin www.robin.me.uk "Posthabui tamen illorum mea seria ludo"
