Urgent Boating News - There is a sunken day boat on the River Bure just upstream of Black Horse Broad. Rangers are currently on site marking the hazard and working with the boatyard to remove the vessel. Please navigate with extreme caution if you are in the area.

There was also a sunken sailing dingy with broken mast on a popular Broad a couple of weeks back. Very windy day, occupants rescued from water by Mike and a neighbouring boater. Sailing boat retrieved (after people !) and taken to Staithe (where occupants also had a hire cruiser) Mast marked with bouy , and then Ranger attended to remove but apparently the hire yard had asked the poor wet people to go and try to retrieve it shortly before he arrived to meet Mike. Thank goodness a further rescue of people was not required ( daft request by yard in my opinion in those conditions). Assume said wrecked boat, mast and people returned to yard in due course.
