A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the Tidal Rivers Bure, Ant and Thurne.

Flooding is possible for the Tidal Rivers Bure from Wroxham Bridge, Ant from Honing and Thurne from Hickling to Breydon Water.

The forecast high water is due at Great Yarmouth on the 11th of January 2017 at 8:12pm.

Low lying land and roads will be affected first.

Be prepared.

We are expecting high tide levels due to the combination of spring tides and a surge tide. Through the evening levels may be elevated. We will continue to monitor levels closely and update this message as necessary.

We were walking along the moorings at How Hill this morning at about 11.30 and the flow of water heading upstream was probably the fastest we have ever seen it. The level against the mooring was already much higher than we would normally expect to see.

A flood warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for tonight, Saturday 14th January - Upper Tidal River Bure - Flooding is expected - immediate action required
Flood warning in force now

We are continuing to experience high water levels following on from yesterdays high tides at Great Yarmouth combined with the surge tide that is causing tide locking in the Broads system. The forecast high water is due at Great Yarmouth on 14th January 2017 at 10:15 pm. Locations affected are riverside properties in Wroxham, Horning, Thurne, Ranworth, South Walsham, Pilson Green, Cargate Green, Upton and Clippesby. Roads likely to be affected are the A1062, A1151 and the railway line at Wroxham. The Environment Agency is monitoring the situation closely, working alongside partners including the Met Office and local authorities.
