Please note - Griff is only using our office computer when he has a
chance, normally early evening. So he may not get to answer any
questions in time etc.

But he is at Ludham Bridge boatyard on sunday, and should be there until
Friday/Saturday.

Yawn, I'm so tired.

This is remeniscent of our restoration days only this time we really do have a deadline to meet.

I'm only getting on the forum via Lbby's office last thing before lights out if I can stay awake long enough that is, not ven had ONE tin of beer consumed onboard either.

Anyroadup as Jason has stated, I'm here until Sunday 19th apart from when running errands or collecting materials etc.  Tomorrows task (For me anyway) is graving pieces below the water-line, can't tell you just how much I'm looking forward to that.

Jason and his staff have also talked us into a full repaint of the white hull bits and that is a lot of bits, she didn't really need it either. It also means of course I've had to order a set of new graphics that Howard will bring down next Friday.

I've taken a stack of phots and will continue to do so and will sort them out into some sort of order later on at home of course.

Tomorrow (Sunday) will see the stain being applied to the transom. Monday should see the bottom having new anti-foul applied. The templates are made for the s.steel transom corners.

If you are passing then of course come and say hello if you should so wish but we are trying to keep out of the way of the staff here, they are being polite and very tolerant I must say, and are a joy to work with.

A 'bit' tired once again.

More progression though, Transom had first coat of stain today, 2 x more to go + 6 coats of varnish. Will we finish in time?  Scared

Me thinks you ought to be having a word with Mrs G about an extention of pass out to compleat the works.
There again as you say...you are the owner of the small round ones in your household so cant really see a problem.

Thanks Grendel,

Nice photo, pity about the fenders still being deployed and some of them dragging in the oggin, Howard (GriffTiff) must have been the skipper.

It is now 2300 and I have just finished for the night.

Degger went back up to Donny today, he had tickets for the Donny v Norwich game (Which Donny won 3-1 I might add). Russ and Paul T left on Sunday which means of course I'm all on my lonesome from 1700 after the yard staff depart until around 0800 when the arrive each morning. Still this means I can crack on in the evenings without being nagged to get off for showers/dinner/pub etc til gone 2300.

Where are we today then?

The anti-fouling is complete, the boot topping is complete (2 x coats on that) and I would like to say the white gloss on the hull sides are complete, it should be but it's not, its all painted and looking ok however the blasted new roller left thousands of bits of fluff/hairs on the port bow to about half way down the side, to top it off there a few runs (Curtains as BreamSlayer would call em) so in the morning I will have to get a block and some 1200 paper and flat those areas off and have a bit of a touch up.

The transom has just (about half an hour ago) had its last coat of stain (3rd one) which leaves me to do a bit of 'spotting' in the morning then it can have it's first coat of varnish.

Talking of varnish the rubbing strips and apron also had their first coat this evening too.

We are aiming to get 'B.A' out of the shed on Friday so tomorrow I have to get at least two more coats of varnish on and the final three on Thursday. the transome of course now needs SIX coats as it is one behind the rest.

I have to also prep the deck for painting, and that needs two coats the first one with sand applied as I go.

The transome corner badges had their first fitting today and have gone back for fine trimming/polishing

Quite a few snagging items have been ticked off but there is still a host of them to do, not enough hours in a day.

Another 15 x Hr day faces me tomorrow as per the norm then.
