My old cabin front has made a re-appearance! Just for a minute I thought they had changed their minds about the new ones but I soon reasoned that no matter how much they tried there was absolutely no way they could repair what they had removed. Half of one side was ply, the other side mainly mahogany dust. Of course this was being refitted for alignment checks etc.

Well I hope it was!

If I am a "woody" how come there are no "fibreglassy's" "plasticy's" or "steelies"?

With the cabin front in place it was time to mark out my side decks. I had seen some very nice oak planks arrive the day before and these had been machined into 3"x 1 1/4" beams. We (!) started at the bow and my side decks started to take shape

I shall over simplify what happened next. Basically there was lots of frustration, a bit of swearing and many many hours of toil. Its all down to my deck not only changing in angle as it runs towards the my stern but my hull also alters into a 'tumblehome' (is that what you humans call it?) at the transom. Of course, at this point the deck is beginning to rise again so the lowest point is midships. Anyway, there are 18 cross beams a side, every one is different in angle at both ends and length. It certainly kept them busy!

Geez Janet Anne, your poor owners really have a huge task with you! You are so lucky they are helping you! although they are doing a fab job.. We are just finishing off our plastic project so I feel some of your owners pain.. I hope they get you all fixed up soon.. be nice to them though.. don't cause them too much pain!

(amazing skills and workmanship there! Please keep the posts coming!).

We do not need a bigger
boat...

Regards, Alan
