Hi all
Well we have gone and done it. We have bought A957 Lady Anne / Star Premiere 1 and now have the task over restoring her to her former glory. That amazing chap Craig has come up with a photo of her at the 1959 Boat Show so we have something to aim for. Attached the 1960 Blakes entry.More to follow as and when.

Great News Barry - another proper WOODEN boat to be properly saved for future generations. I can help with the jack Powles flag and 'Powles Craft' badges if you want.

I will follow your thread with avid interest. Where are you planning the restoration (So I can visit/help you understand)  -  Griff

Thanks Griff
On Tuesday last after we had parted with the readies we took 5 Ltrs deisel a stirup pump,an empty 20 Ltr jerry can  a battery and jump leads down to the boat. the pump to pump out any water from the deisel tank which had not had any put in for at least two years the engine had not been started since April. The only thing we got out of the tank was a smell of fuel, so in went the 5 Ltrs. Couple up the jump leads and turn her over.to much to hope for really, but no she fired for about 20 seconds.Thinks 80 gallon tank or so empty 5 ltrs in bottom no fuel, despatched JG with 20 Ltr can to Rose Lane garage in the pooring rain poor chap.
On return pour in 20 Ltrs and try again, almost imediately fires. So the plan is to go to friends yard
dow river but she has not been anywhere since 2005 so we are very aprehensive but after various check we decide to go . With some much needed help from Jill we managed to slide out from inside the boat alongside all in the pouring rain. Off we go doing about 4mph at 500 revs I think the morse control needs some fettling.
Long story short arrived Griffin Lane with no upsets.
Next week full engine and gearbox service by Boulters in prepareation for Breydon and points North.

Utter respect to you!

I lurve the wooden boats and we would love to have one, but with none of the skills required for a project like this, or cash to pay others, or the time needed, added to the fact that we live so far away, we have to stick with shiny white GRP! (and thats after a spit and a polish)

The true "Broads" of the Broads look fantastic in the water, and top marks to anyone/everyone who has a hand in keeping them around.

Very best wishes, hope all goes well, Karen

Thank you all for kind remarks.
I will keep you posted , with photos as and
when things happen.
Water damage to the interior of aft cabin/saloon, head lining pretty precarious methinks, hence the need to replace both cabin roofs.
