That was just a Press release from JP. The credit goes to the Navigation Committe (or at least one member of it, but I doubt he was acting on his own) and the BA solicitor.

"Through the combined actions of one of our navigation committee members, Simon Sparrow, and a letter from our Solicitor, David Harris, we have made Network Rail aware of their statutory responsibilities.”

"..for the avoidance of any doubt, the broads are not legally a national park and do not come under the national park legislation, and nor will they."

Network Rail need reminding that they and their predecessors have had 113 years to source the spares that will keep the bridges operational.

There is an interesting account here about Somerleyton Bridge including the report that in 2016 at least the summer rails were not installed

The summer rails should be installed and this should be enforced, if we have the right (whatever that means)then we've got the right, does anybody know if this is a legal right?
Every effort should be made to ensure that the bridges will open...
