The BA have completed refurbishment of their Irstead patrol launch base, with a new boat shed and newly piled moorings.

There is room for two good sized cruisers to moor overnight, and no notice (yet) to forbid it. Is there any  good reason why these moorings should not be available for public use?

Probably because access to that Base is over private land and therefore very limited!

Is that a good reason? The BA have found themselves compelled to reduce the number of free 24 hour mooring spaces, which are at a particular premium on the Ant, so it would seem rather a pity if the public cannot share the benefit of the money the BA have managed find to improve their own facilities.

You could ask the same when the BA were at Womack dyke or even now at BA yard Thorpe , but it's down to H&S as well I think , MM has answered it well I thought,
