Harlo. the River Sheaf has it's origin in Blacka Dyke which is on Blackamore which is in the Peak District NP it runs from there through to the centre of Sheffield. Does that count? ;-)

Parts of Sheffield are in the Peak District. Bradfield for instance:

Bradfield, South Yorkshire

South Yorkshire

Bradfield is a civil parish in the City of Sheffield, in South Yorkshire, England. The civil parish is extensive, the western half is situated in the moorlands of the Peak District, the eastern half is in lower agricultural land and contains the parish's significant habitations, which include the Sheffield suburb of Stannington, as well as Oughtibridge and Worrall…

The NP also touches the thee Boundaries of Sheffield at Totley so it is indeed embracing Sheffield. lets start a campaign to get this wrong righted ;-)

Oh and the Rivellin River Flows out of the N.P. into Sheffield.

Looking at the Map Manchester is embraced by the NP too  LOL

Point well and truly conceded TT. There is nothing so thorough as local knowledge.
Before it became so very busy I used to visit and walk very frequently in the peak district. Pretty much a weekend a month for a lot of years. I thought that I knew the area very well. Shows that I still only acquired "foreigner" status. Cheers

Local knowledge is always best. However, the peak district park authority website seems to put Sheffield just outside the executive area.

Look at the map I posted it clearly shows Bradfield in the Peak Park and Bradfield is in Sheffield Q.E.D.

I'm not arguing with you. Just showing you that the map from the Peak District National Park website shows Sheffield, highlighted as a darkened area, as being outside of the Peak District.

I'm not arguing either, I'm not sure what boundary they are showing but I would guess it misses out a large swathe of Sheffield from Hillsborough to Bradfield including Loxley amongst other places.

Sorry Paladine - I think that only refers to operational development when what was proposed was change of use . The existing use i.e a telephone kiosk no longer possible as the equipment had been removed. I don't think any real physical changes (operational development) to the structure were proposed.

Mad for it..
