Not such a quiet pub. Open until 2am at weekends and no food after 4pm and popular with football fans who will of cause behave impeccably. Excellent free advert. Looks nice. Probably after pub of the year again.

Has anybody come up with anything other than using existing laws/bylaws or handing out a pamphlet.
If you feel threatened or abused in any way then call 101, if can't get through then 999 and tell them you feel threatened. They will probably link you through to the local plod. Remember the BA Rangers can only enforce the BA bylaws.

Yes, the Broads Authority is going to set up a working party. That'll sort the buggers out!  Evil Grin

Dave you said in your post to pally

"In some cases your right Pally but some are very much complaining about anything that spoils their peace and quiet. "
It's been said on this thread a few times now , that the broads are noted for the peace and quiet , thats why so many of us return year after year or several times a year , me to , to get away from the rat race , noise , traffic , etc ,

Maybe JP will do a meet and greet for stag parties or be on hand to assist the Rangers to explain what a wonderful water world and national park this is and not disturb the ..........

Hey lets ratchet this up a bit more by introducing drugs into the mix! Despite the fact that as far as I am aware they have never been mentioned as an issue before.
Cocaine! Naw a bit too tame really. How about some Heroin or some Crystal Meth. I sure that I saw a dodgy looking character flagging down Stag party boats recently no doubt with a bucket full of each of those drugs to sell. Best tell the EDP who can exaggerate it a bit more and send some on here into an even bigger frenzy.

Please , please keep it realistic.
It may be a bit of a pain when what we see as our personal space is interrupted. But it is simple not as frequent and horrific as some are trying to make out.
As for the Broads being unsuitable for stags and hens...I would tend to agree (possibly lacks enough venues)  but who has made me or any other on here the judge and jury on that?

From a business perspective which would anyone prefer if they were a landlord? Lets surmise that the pub has five available moorings.
1. A dozen blokes on one boat, taking up one mooring that are likely to drink five pints each and possibly eat in that session.
Four further moorings still available for other customers.
Or,
2. Five couples on five boats occupying all five moorings. They may have a couple of beers or wines and some may eat.

A bit of a no brainer. That applies across other broads businesses where an element of critical mass in the summer is the difference in making their business viable or otherwise.

"Just said Dave. Whats new is kidnapping or did they do that when you were a kid too?"
Not exactly but as I said, getting the Groom p*ssed and putting him on a train and him waking up in Glasgow or Bristol wasn't a mile off. It was the guys stag weekend, if he had any brain what so ever he would have guessed what was going off, Who would have 15 guys with base ball bats abduct one guy?

Some people seem to be missing the point entirely. No-one has said the Broads are as bad as some town and city centres on a Friday and Saturday night. Families tend not to frequent such areas, because they know the type of behaviour that occurs. We're discussing the Broads, "Britain's Magical Waterland", the "Broads National Park". It shouldn't be expected be anything like the said town and city centres.

An incident occurred that hit the national press. People are asking what can or should be done. Incidents mentioned on this thread are:

"1. Within an hour after hearing the most disgusting language they decided to wax the groom so they stripped him naked. This followed with him being thrown in the river and many of his "friends" urinating on him. When the finally left one of them stood on the bow of the boat urinating for all to see.

2. An experience I had a while ago was when I was moored at How Hill - and while I know there will be traffic coming past, but I'm afraid I don't agree that I should expect to have saucepans on the cooker tipped on the floor by their wash.

3. Talking to locals last night at The Ferry Horning, on Saturday 5 or 6 from a stag party abandoned their clothes and went skinny dipping right in front of the pub in view of families.

4. 3 years ago we witnessed a disgusting 3 boat loads of 'Yobs' at Stokesby. The sound of cracking fibreglass could be heard the 100yds away that we were, never mind the language. 1 private boat even left despite it was nearly dark by this time. They even followed us to Oulton Broad where we told the HM, who at least wouldn't let them moor. They then went to Wherry moorings, again with the sound of cracking fibreglass.

5. ...we were up in June at Sutton Staith on the sunday evening two of these boats came in. One was quite and moored near us. The other was noisy and even untied another baot to get moored.

6. Then of course there is the damage to the environment by the many delightful groups who chuck their beer cans etc into the water along with the rubbish and any other items they decide to chuck from the boat whilst acting like five-year-olds.

Add to that the noise nuisance -  we've seen plenty of hire boats with additional audio equipment on board and big speake..."

Not a great catalogue of misbehaviour, but hardly the sort of thing to be encouraged, and those who say, 'Oh, it's just a bit of fun, get over it' are doing the Broads no favours at all.

I've had my boat hit by a day-boat full of drunken yobs, who then went on to threaten the ranger who had to deal with them. Yes, my personal space was interrupted, and it was a pain, but asking me to just grin and bear it ain't gonna wash!

And as I said Steve, there are plenty of places like that still on the Broads just don't expect it in a busy Holiday Town or Village.
